Position Overview
As a Communications Manager at Amazon in our Yelm office, you will play a critical role in shaping how we communicate internally and externally. This role demands a strategic thinker who excels at storytelling, team collaboration, and project management. You will understand complex issues, craft compelling narratives, and drive engagement through effective communications strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to elevate Amazon's brand image and drive engagement with our customers and employees.
- Act as a primary point of contact for all corporate communications and work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, public relations, and product management.
- Lead content creation for a variety of channels, including social media, blogs, newsletters, and press releases.
- Manage communication during crises or major company announcements while maintaining brand integrity.
- Build effective relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and community organizations to ensure alignment in communication efforts.
- Monitor and analyze public perception of Amazon, utilizing data to inform upcoming strategies.
- Organize and oversee events that promote Amazon's identity and public engagement initiatives.
- Engage in continuous improvement of communication processes with a focus on transparency and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a communications role, preferably in a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated experience in communication strategy development and execution.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media trends.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms.
